Clinic Management and Profitability enhances skills gained from Management Fundamentals and Business Supervisory Skills, but specifically with regard to management of a healthcare setting. A Medical Office Manager’s role is fundamentally different from other managers because it focuses on patient service, as opposed to customer service. Topics which are specific to a healthcare setting include personnel and patient management techniques, concepts of teamwork, hiring and retaining healthcare employees, and management styles. Students also are trained to understand that the doctor is responsible for the health of the patients, but the Clinic Manager is responsible for the health of the business. Students learn effective e-mail communication to patients and other physicians and techniques to increase clinic revenue, decrease expenses, and strengthen overall clinic profitability. This course consists of 9 days (39 hours) of daily online learning sessions in the Healthcare Hybrid format.

Students are supplied with a textbook for ongoing reference. In addition to quizzes, there is a final exam upon completion of the course. Students must achieve a mark of 75% to successfully complete the course.
